Aim: To teach powerboating up to the standard required to complete a short coastal passage by day. The ratio of students to instructors should not exceed 6:1 (using two boats)
Assumed knowledge: Candidates should be competent to the standard of National Powerboat certificate Level 2 with coastal endorsment.
The course will be conducted in a planing boat.
It strongley recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF radio operator's licence. Please note the old style restricted VHF licence will not enable you to use a GMDSS set with selective digital calling, which is the current standard.
Course duration: 2 days.
Minimum age 16
