Bob says:
"This web site is dedicated solely  to demonstrate  my songs, lyrics,  and other  written  works;  which include the novel, and screenplay of  "A Group of Humans", and the 20 Poems of the same name, that inspired the story.  Plus biography, and other self indulgent stuff.  All with a blatant view to  securing a  publishing deal.

Songs
I love the song writing process, but my choices may not be the right ones.  I believe Collaboration is the key to really great songs, so collaborators are particularly welcome.  I have always had my eye on writing a 'Standard',  or a big show songs, so a lot of my efforts are what I call 'Singers Songs'.

The New Songs page is set out for quick  reference  with descriptions,  of content  and  style.  Most have links to lyric, and lead line sheets. Some have mp3 tracks.  I am not a  singer, so some are professional  demos .

Featured Song

Featured Poem  V 1, 2

When a poem meets a melody
That’s where you’ll find a song
When you think you’ve heard
That tune before and realize you’re wrong
When those little hairs upon you’re neck
Stand up, but not for long
That’s a song that’s a song that’s a song

When the melody goes way too high
And you can’t sing along
'Cos the singer’s doing fancy stuff
You think there’s something wrong
Then the poem brings the melody
Back down where it belongs

That’s a song that’s a song that’s a song

Looking at things that survive from the past,
like marble, and granite, and fine crystal glass.
Some things continue to please on their own,
like bronzes, enamels, and some types of stone.

Some form a marriage; establish a class,
gold holding diamonds, wood holding glass.
A silver backed hairbrush for smacking yer' arse,

(Alternative for verse two, line three):

"Oil paint on canvas; depicting the past"
but none go together like varnish and brass.

"Victorian steam boats like these, seen during walks by the  river at  Henley - Upon - Thames" inspired me to  write "Varnish and Brass" .
